Interim President Wendell Pritchett welcomed Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the UN Sergiy Kyslytsya to Perry World House for a conversation about the state of the war in Ukraine, almost 50 days since the Russian invasion.  “Our hearts break when we witness the untold suffering of the Ukrainian people,” said President Pritchett. “Ukrainian courage and perseverance serve as the most compelling reminders that no-one can take…liberty…for granted.”  Ambassador Kyslytsya spoke with Philadelphia Inquirer's Trudy Rubin about how the UN has struggled with the crisis and Russia’s past behavior; how the international community can help Ukraine; and possible outcomes of the war.  Commenting on how the conflict could end, he said: “Victory for all of us is not a military victory in the territory of Ukraine over the Russian army….[it’s] putting Russia back at the very beginning of the long path towards democracy.”

The conversation is now available to watch on Perry World House’s YouTube channel.
