Wendell Pritchett, Interim President, introduced the Distinguished Lecture in Africana Studies.  Playwright, novelist, and poet Wole Soyinka, the first African to win the Nobel Prize of Literature, was the inaugural speaker for the Lecture. The event was held at the Penn Museum and included a Q&A with Wale Adebanwi, Presidential Penn Compact Professor of Africana Studies in the School of Arts & Sciences.
